Paul Acton was recommended to me by a friend. I needed a bodge job putting right - an extremely expensive cupboard, fitted by an alleged professional kitchen company, had fallen off the wall!
Paul was thoroughly professional, very considerate of my needs and did a superb job on schedule and on budget. He took the broken carcass that had fallen off the wall, fixed it without any visible signs of it having been fixed, and mounted it back in it's original position just as if it had never been moved. He also took the matching unit on the other wall, strengthened it and refixed it so that it, too, will stand an earthquaqe before it parts company with the wall. When he'd finished I could not tell that he'd ever been in the kitchen except for the fixed cupboards - there was no mess and no clear up required. For this he charged me around 20% of the replacement value of a new unit, which would probably have fallen off the wall anyway.
I know that this is not his main line of work and that he likes to manufacture from scratch, but the attention to detail and care he took over what he could have just dismissed as a trivial job indicates, I believe, the quality of the workman and the integrity of the individual.

Paul Acton designed and hand built my childrens toy box and it is the most beautiful piece of furniture I have ever seen! Its so well made, with a sliding shelf inside and handles for ease when moving. Its made such a difference to our storage issue and it also looks so stylish in their bedroom as its natural pine and goes with the other furniture perfectly.
